Schultz, Erma (Augustine) (13 JAN 1926 - 25 MAR 2014)

Erma (nee Augustine) Schultz, age 88, of Colby, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. She had been living at the Clark County Health Center, Owen, for the past several years.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Grove Township. Rev. Dr. Paul Hunsicker, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 9:30 AM until time of service Saturday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.

Erma was born on January 13, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Amanda (Conrad) Augustine.

She married Arthur Schultz on January 13, 1945 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Grove. Arthur passed away in August, 1997. Erma attended Colby Public schools and was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran. Arthur and Erma farmed until retiring in 1993 and moving to Colby.

Erma was very active in the community. She was a Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years at the church, member of Ladies Aid, member of VFW Auxiliary and was a part time chef at several restaurants in Unity and Abbotsford. Erma enjoyed sewing, gardening, pinochle card playing, playing organ and cooking. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are four sons, David (Anne) Schultz of Tualatin, Oregon, Kenneth (Donna) Schultz of Overland Park, Kansas, Ronald Schultz of Marshfield and Gary (Terri) Schultz of Colby; six grandchildren, Victoria Kennedy of Camas, Washington, Michael (Elizabeth) Schultz of Clive, Iowa, Bryan Schultz of Overland Park, Kansas, Amy (Jack) Bauer of Overland Park, Kansas, Greg Schultz of Colby and Jim Schultz of Unity. There are seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Matthew, William, Nathan, Luke and Benjamin.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, daughter, one sister and four brothers.
