Willard (1972)

B-r-r-r! Cold weather again last week. Monday morning it was 20 below zero and in the daytime about 15 above. Tuesday morning it was 10 degrees below zero and he high was zero. Wednesday it was 10 below zero again and the high was two below zero. Thursday morning the temperature fell to 12 below and the high was zero. Friday morning the low was 16 below and the high was one above. Saturday the cold weather continued, 16 below and the high three above. Sunday it was 18 below with a high of four above; but on Monday morning the temperature was only two below and it seemed quite a bit better.

The house once owned by the late Mrs. Johanna Artac in Willard has been sold to John Cremer of Greenwood. He and his family move in last Saturday.

A private picnic of the Rock Dam, Greenwood and Willard snowmobile club was held last Sunday at the lakeside Lodge. They had a lunch of barbecued wieners, beans and chips.

Eleven tables of cards were played last Sunday night at the parish hall. Leo Gregorich and Ed Bukovec wee chairmen. The door prize was won by Frank Govek. A special prize was awarded to Mrs. Herbert Kurth. A prize also was awarded to the winner at each table and a lunch was served.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Govek went to Sheboygan and Milwaukee last Saturday. In Milwaukee they attended the 35th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mallmann. Mrs. Joseph Lesar of West Bend and Joseph Govek of Sheboygan also were there.

Miss Susan Debevec of Oshkosh is spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Debevec and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Doepke of Marshfield spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mr. Julius Klapatauskas and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pernic of St. Louis, Mo., spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Pernic, Sr.

Miss Diane Klapatauskas of Marshfield spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas.

Randy Klapatauskas was dismissed from the Marshfield hospital last Saturday.
