Braun, Maria #2 (28 FEB 1863- 03 MAY 1943)

Mrs. Frederick Braun, nee Maria Wilck was born in Reduauhn, Germany on February 28, 1863 and was married to Frederick Braun at Sheboygan June 3, 1886. A year after their marriage they came to Greenwood and lived on a farm 10 miles northwest of here until 1918 when they moved to this city.

To this union were born seven children, three of whom, Harry, Adella and Ernest died in infancy. Mr. Braun passed away March 9, 1939. Mr. and Mrs. Braun celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936.

Since the death of Mr. Braun, Mrs. Braun has made her home with her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Albert Liebzeit, who reside 6 miles northwest of here. On February 17, Mrs. Braun had the misfortune of falling and breaking her hip and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield where she has been a patient ever since and where she passed away on Monday, May 3, 1943 at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Braun was a member of the Zion Reformed Church and the Ladies Aid Society.

She is survived by two sons George and Theodore, and two daughters Mrs. Albert (Clara) Liebzeit and Mrs. Emil (Marianne) Noah, all of Greenwood; a brother Theodore Wilck, Ione, Wash.; a sister Mrs. Minnie Schomberg, Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the Schiller Funeral Home Thursday, May 6 at 1:30 p.m. and at the Zion Reformed Church at 2 p.m. Rev. B.M. Fresenborg will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Braun Settlement Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Harry Liebzeit, Clarence Liebzeit, Norman Liebzeit, Arvin Liebzeit, Elmer Learman and Alvin Ziegler.
