Makovec, Margaret M. (Marriage - 11 December 1971)

Miss Margaret M. Makovec became the bride of Barry K. Sain Saturday, December 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Becker officiated at the double-ring ceremony performed in the poinsettia-decorated church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Makovec of Rt. 1 Owen. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Sain of Flaxville, Mt., are the groom’s parents.

For her marriage, the bride chose a lace-trimmed, white satin gown styled with a high neckline and long sleeves. She carried a bouquet of red-tinted white carnations as she was given in marriage by her father.

Miss Judith Seliskar of Greenwood, cousin of of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Virginia Mertens of Stanley, also a cousin of the bride, and Miss Kathy Anderson of Withee. They wore mint green gowns trimmed with white lace and carried bouquets of white carnations.

James Barron of Flaxville, Mt., served as best man. Groomsmen were Steve and Mike Miller, also of Flaxville. Gusts were seated by Rory Linder and Robert Sain.

Soloist Roger Trucky of Thorp also played the organ.

A reception for 130 guests was held in the church dining room.
