Neillsville Locals (11 November 1971)

John Schiesel and Hubert Quicker attended “Old Timers and State Presidents” night at the Elk’s Lodge in Marshfield Monday evening. Mr. Schiesel was honored as a 30-year member at the annual event.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Scholtz returned Sunday evening from Elroy where they attended the Silver wedding anniversary observance of Mr. and Mrs. William Hill and were weekend guests at the Hill home. The Scholtzes attended the marriage of their son, Charles Scholtz and Miss Marilyn Jantz on November 5, at Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. They were guests that weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Poppy in Racine. The Poppy’s brought the Scholtzes home Sunday and stayed with (missing words).

Mrs. Bernard Dodte returned early this month from a visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sharp and family, in Eugene, Or. While on the west coast, Mrs. Dodte also visited her sister, Miss Lucille Sharp, at Delano, Calif., and with other relatives. She was accompanied on her trip by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Manley Sharp of Ashland.

Mrs. Dennis Ryan of Tomah spent a couple of days last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edison Mathis.

Neillsville Kiwanians plan to set up and decorate their community Christmas tree next Monday. The club places a tree on the library lawn annually.

Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Morse of Spooner visited with Mrs. Olivia Ruchaber Wednesday. Weekend guests at the Ruchaber home are expected to be Mrs. John Salchert and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Salchert of Fond du Lac.
