Richert, Linda L. (Marriage - 9 October 1971)

Miss Linda L. Richert became the bride of Alan J. Geiger on Saturday, October 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. William Humlie officiated at the 4:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony performed before approximately 175 guests. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Ms. Herbert Richert of Rt. 1 Greenwood. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Geiger of Rt. 2 Loyal.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in an empire-waist, A-Line gown of white brocaded satin styled with long sleeves and train. Her long veil was held in place by a crown headpiece. She carried a bouquet of blue and white pompon mums and daisies.

Miss Janice Searls, Granton, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Arlene Verhulst, La Crosse, and Miss Maria Hakola, Wausau. They wore peacock blue empire-waist; A-line gowns trimmed in gold and carried bouquets of blue and white mums and daisies.

Jerry Hubing, Loyal, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Jerry Weyer, La Crosse and DuWayne Poehnelt, Loyal. Guests were seated by Keith Weyhmiller and Michael Poehnelt, both of Loyal.

Soloist was Miss Martha Gerdes. Mrs. Gladys Olsen was the organist.

The Loyal Fire hall was the scene of a reception and dance.

The new Mrs. Geiger, a 1971 graduate of Loyal High School, has been employed as a keypunch operator in Marshfield. Her husband, who graduated from Loyal High School in 1967, is employed in Loyal.

Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin the newlyweds will live in Loyal.
