Adler, Fred W. (21 September 1895 - 1 October1971)

Funeral services for Fred W. Adler, Sr., 78, a barber in Loyal for approximately 50 years, were held Monday, October 4, at 11 a.m. from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Norbert E. King officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Two rosary services for Mr. Adler, who died at his home in Loyal early Friday morning, October 1, were conducted Sunday at the Roycraft Funeral Home where the body was in state.

Mr. Adler was born September 21, 1895, in Ripon, and grew up there and in the Sturgeon Bay area, where he received his educations. He attended barber school in Milwaukee. His marriage to the former Elsie Schmidt took place October 16, 1923, at Loyal. The couple lived in Racine for a few months before settling in Loyal. Mr. Adler, who was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, retired two years ago.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Fred W. Adler, Jr., of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren; a brother, Carl Adler of Sturgeon Bay; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Free and Mrs. Martha Fisher, also of Sturgeon Bay.

Pallbearers were: Percy Voight, Henry Aumann, Leo Degenhardt, Tony Walter, Joe Hoeser and Jess Robb.
