Sherman, Anna (5 JUN 1873 - 20 OCT 1953)

Mrs. Anna Sherman, nee Anna Wierschem, daughter of Philip and Ann Wierschem, was born at Eagle Harbor, Mich. on June 5, 1873.

On Sept. 6, 1898 she was married to Otis Sherman at Neillsville (Clark Co.), Wis. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Elmer (Mabel) Rossman, Owen; Irving Sherman, Greenwood, and Mrs. Hugo (Olive) Hoffman, Manitowoc. They resided in Neillsville a few years before moving to Chili, Marshfield and Loyal, coming to Greenwood in 1906, where she made her home until her health failed and she was carried for by her daughter Mabel at Owen. The past 2 1/2 years she was a patient at the Clark County Hospital in Owen.

Mr. Sherman passed away on Feb. 20, 1910 in Greenwood.

She is survived by the above named children, six grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Ed Bullard, Anoka, Minn.; Mrs. Margaret O'Laughlin, Minneapolis; Mrs. Mary Gilbert, Portland, Oregon; and two brothers, Tony and Joseph Wierschem, Danbury, Wis.

Mrs. Sherman passed away at the hospital at Owen on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1953.

St. Ann's Society recited the Rosary on Thursday evening at the Schiller Funeral Parlors and a general Rosary was said at the home of her son Irving on Friday evening.

A Requiem Mass was sung at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10:15 a.m., with the Rev. Edward Hartung officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Charles Ludwig, Joe Kohlnhofer, L.A. Kitzhaber, Matt Lindner, George Scherer Sr. and Casper Lindner.

Mrs. Sherman was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Royal Neighbor Lodge and the equitable Reserve Association.
