Susa, John Michael (24 September 1892 - 20 July 1971)

John Michael Susa, 78, died July 20 at his home in Greenwood of a heart attack.

Mr. Susa, son of Joseph and Susan (Weisenberger) Susa, was born September 24, 1892, in Buffalo County. He came to Greenwood at the age of three with his parents. He was married June 20, 1917, to Dora Bautch in Greenwood. They farmed southwest of Greenwood and in the fall of 1968 moved to the city of Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Cletus of Willard, James of Loyal and Giles of Greenwood; 24 grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Susa of Greenwood; and two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Peiper of Greenwood and Mrs. Hattie Bodwin of Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held July 23 from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Mathew G. Malnar of Independence officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Dennis Susa, Leonard (Tony) Susa, Gerry Susa, Michael Susa, Randall Susa and David Susa.
