Gerald was born on May 11, 1952 in Marshfield to Earl and Audrey (Nelson) Kampin. He married Judith Ann Weinfurtner on November 1st, 1975 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Chili, WI.

Gerald worked for the Chili Cheese Factory, Greenwood Milk Products, Wick Building Systems and Hildebrandt Construction over the past many years.

"Walnuts" enjoyed fishing, spending time at their trailer at Pine Cove Resort. You could find him many mornings on the lake trolling. You could also tell when he was leaving Pine Cove Bay when you could hear polka music playing from the pontoon. He loved his garden at the lake and having fresh vegetables all summer. He was the all around fix it man in the resort and for all family and friends. He also enjoyed being a member of the Brown Haired MONARCHS hunting group, gun and bow hunting was his passion. Walnuts enjoyed his trips to the Casino and playing various card games at Harley's Bar and at the lake. "Walnuts" will be sadly missed by many who knew him.

Lastly, Papa loved to take his two precious Granddaughters for long visits to the lake. They went on many golf cart rides around camp, played at the playground and hung out together. Papa always had a smile on his face watching his "girls" playing at the beach, swimming and boating with them. His Granddaughters were the light of his life and will be sadly missed by them.
