Lund, Leonard (6 MAY 1888 - 8 MAR 1952)

Leonard Lund was born May 6, 1888 at La Crosse, Wis. He was educated in La Crosse schools and was a graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee. After graduation hew worked in a drug store at La Crosse for a short time and then moved to Hurley where he worked in Sullivan's Drug Store.

On Jan. 2, 1912 he was married to Elizabeth Eystamer at Hurley. After their marriage they moved to Rhinelander, where he operated his own pharmacy until his retirement in May 1941. His first wife passed away in August 1942.

On Nov. 25, 1944 he was united in marriage with Esther Dankert at Milwaukee and they pruchased the drug store here shortly afterward.

Mr. Lund passed away at the Wis. General Hospital, Madison, at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 1952, following a short illness.

Funeral servcies were held at the Stabnow Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11th at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Lee Holmes, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, officiated. Masonic rites, conducted by A.L. Devos, Neillsville, followed. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

During the service Mrs. Chal Perkins and Mrs. Geo. Haeuser sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Olson at the piano.

The pallbearers were: John Verhunce, George Hoehne, James Plank, Norman Reineking, Julius Hoehne and Olen Drew.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Elizabeth) Carlson, Wis. Rapids; one son, Richard L. Lund, Rhinelander; one sister, Mrs. M.O. (Ethel) Warner, Spencer, Iowa; one brother, P. Lund, Los Angeles, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
