June Wendt, 97, of Neillsville passed away
Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Sunset Assisted Living Center in Neillsville
surrounded by her family.
June Rose Fradette was born June 15, 1916, in
the Town of York, Clark County, the daughter of Herbert and Edna (Raymond)
Fradette. She received her education in the Neillsville area schools. She was
united in marriage to Frederick Wendt Oct. 1, 1933, in Neillsville. They farmed
in the Town of Weston, and in 1959, moved to Neillsville. June was employed as a
cook at the Neillsville High School and as an aid at the Memorial Medical Center
in Neillsville.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and its
Ladies Aid. During her spare time, June enjoyed the outdoors and gardening and
tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed embroidering, sewing and quilting, and
she also enjoyed playing cards and games with her family and friends.
She is survived by four children, Clair (Pat) Wendt of Marshfield, Larry
(Jackie) Wendt of Comstock, Teriann (Stan) Kurasz of Morrison, IL, and Kathy
(Larry) Marshall of Neillsville; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and
two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband, an infant son, one grandchild, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services for June were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at the
United Church of Christ in Neillsville, with visitation two hours prior to the
service. Pastor Jacoba Koppert officiated. Music was provided by Deon Spangler,
organist. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Honorary
casket bearer was Barry Wendt. Casketbearers were Jeff Wendt, Doug Wendt, Peter
Kurasz, Scott Kyle and Andrew Kyle.
