Stanley L. Gajewski, 81, Athens, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Private services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 4, Athens.

Stanley L. Gajewski, 81, Athens, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 26, 1931 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Leon and Pelegia (Sczyminzski) Gajewski. On May 3, 1958, he married Marilyn Cochenet in Brookfield, Wis. She survives.

Stanley was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 101st Airborne, 11th Division. He was a farmer in the town of Rietbrock.

Survivors include, his wife, Marilyn Gajewski, Athens; six children, Bernie (Tom) Ramaker, Edgar, Tony Gajewski, Athens, Jay (Peggy) Gajewski, Wausau, Jeff Gajewski, Athens, Mike Gajewski, Athens and Sue (Cori) Block, Medford; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence (Dorothy) Gajewski, Athens and Joseph (Barbara) Gajewski, New Berlin; and one sister, Clara Brown, Wausau.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Al, Ray, Leo Jr., and Leonard.

Private services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 4, Athens.
