Funeral services for Mrs. Leona Rokoczy, 80, Unity, were held Saturday, April 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby.  The Rev. John B. Pinion officiated and burial was made in the East Thorp cemetery, Thorp.  Funeral arrangements were attended to by the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Mrs. Rokoczy died at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mike Florkowski, in Unity.

Mrs. Rokoczy was born Leona Karierczak, in Poland, April 4, 1884.  She married Joseph Babulski in 1900 in Europe, and the couple came to the United States where Mr. Babulski worked in the coal mines in Pennsylvania.  They then moved to the Green Bay area where thy farmed.  Later they farmed in the Gilman-Lublin area, where Mr. Babulski died in 1944.  She later married Stanley Rokoczy, who also preceded her in death.  Mrs. Rokoczy spend the last 10 years of her life at the homes of her children.  She had lived at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mike Florkowski, for the past five years.

Survivors include three sons, Walter Babulski, Tajunga, Calif., Ray Babulski, Minneapolis, and Edward Babulski, Appleton; four daughters Mrs. Mike (Helen) Florkowski of Unity, Mrs. Rose Zasacki, Chicago, Mrs. Nick (Mary) Tyznik, Colby, and Mrs. Frank (Pricilla) Fillo, Thorp; 17 grand children and 18 great grand children.  She was preceded in death by one son and one daughter, two brothers and five sisters.
