KAREN PYATT IS BRIDE OF JAMES PETERSEN

Making their home in Owen following a northern Wisconsin honeymoon are James Andrew Petersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Petersen, route 2, Withee, and his bride, the former Miss Karen Kay Pyatt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pyatt, Owen. Mr. Pyatt gave his daughter in marriage.

The Petersen-Pyatt wedding took place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, the Rev. Byrl Knudsen officiating. Mrs. Herman Rabska was the organist and Miss Diane Burhop sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “O Promise Me.”

Bronze and white chrysanthemums bedecked the altar.

White Chantilly lace was utilized to fashion the floor-length bridal gown, which had a tiered skirt with chapel train sparkling with sequins and a scalloped Sabrina neckline accenting the fitted bodice. Her scalloped lace mantilla had a crown and blusher veil.

Miss Carol Wagner, Owen was the maid of honor and Mrs. Lyle Martens, Seymour, and Mrs. Elmer Baum, St. Louis, Mo., the bridesmaids.

The aids had pearl trimmed crowns to match their dresses, which had long straight skirts and slit necklines. The maid of honors ensemble was light moss green and the bridesmaids’ were coral and honey brown. Each carried a fireside basket of bronze and white chrysanthemums.

Kenneth Petersen, route 2, Withee, was best man and the groomsmen were Lyle Martens, Seymour, and Robert Bakke, Curtiss. Ushering were Elmer Braun, St. Louis, Mo., and Ron Kallio, route 1, Owen.

The wedding reception took place at 3:30 p.m. at the Meadowview Country Club, Owen, with the dance beginning at 9:00 o’clock that evening at the Owen Legion clubrooms.


The new matron is a 1964 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, where her husband was graduated in 1959. He also attended Madison Business College, Madison, graduating in 1963. He was affiliated with Phi Theta Pi Fraternity and now is an accountant at the Thorp Finance Home Office attending the wedding from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Martens and sons of Seymour,; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Baum and family, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Nester Wourie and daughter, Linda, Virginia, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Olson, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. John Stowe, Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Meier, Wisconsin Rapids.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Day, Friendship; Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Stewart, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kurhais, Des Plaines, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Avery Gavin and daughter, Sandra, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor, Roscoe, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ellis, Pittsville; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schultz and family and Robert Bakke, Curtiss.
