Henseler, Lyle (27 Aug 1932-04 July 2013)

Lyle M. Henseler, 80, Elko, Nev. passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Banner Hospice in Peoria, Ariz., after his battle with COPD/pulmonary fribrosis. A graveside service will be held on July 16, at Burns Funeral Home in Elko.

Lyle Henseler was born on Aug. 27, 1032, in Loyal. He graduated from Loyal High School, joined the Air Force and fought in the Korean War.

Upon returning home, he married Jeanne Tews of Spencer, They made their homes in California, Utah and finally, Elko, Nev. They were married for 53 years. Lyle’s final life journey brought him to Sun City, Ariz., where he enjoyed the bright sunshine and warm weather for the past two years. He shared his life in Arizona with a very special friend and companion, Norma Jeffers, who had also moved to Sun City from West Virginia. He also had the opportunity to reconnect with several Loyal High School classmates who also lived in Arizona. Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, camping, playing sports in high school and more recently watching sports on TV. He enjoyed time with his family and friends. He led a full life, as he often mentioned.

Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne, in 2008, in Elko.

He is survived by his sister, Ellen Luchterhand, Loyal; his son, Steve (Debbie) Henseler, Elko; his daughter, Julie (Denny) Walker, Phoenix; his grandchildren, Trent (Shauna) Henseler and Bree (Anthony) Foster; and his great-grandchildren, Jace Henseler and Justin Foster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be donated to Faith Lutheran Church in Elko where Lyle and Jeanne attended church. Memorials may be sent through Julie Walker; 402 W. Morrow Dr. Phoenix, Az. 85027.
