ALEXANDER MATTSON, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES

Alexander Mattson, age 90, Stone Lake and Milwaukee resident, died at Milwaukee on Saturday. He was born May 16, 1874, in Finland and came to the United States in 1890. He was married in June 1900 at Hibbing, Minnesota. His wife preceded him in death in March, 1963. He resided in Maple, Wis., from 1907 to 1914 at which time he was one of the organizers of the Co-op store at Maple. In 1914 he and his family moved to Owen, where he operated a grocery store until 1930. He as a member of the Finnish Church in Milwaukee.
Surviving are two sons, Wayne of Stone Lake, and Werner of Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Sigel of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Hannah Hayaa, Milwaukee. Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Koerpel Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Thrasher officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Stone Lake.
