Degenhardt, Barbara Mary (03 JUL 1965)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal was the scene of the wedding of Miss Barbara Mary Degenhardt and John C. Lynskey, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The couple were married Saturday, July 3 at 1 p.m. with the Very Rev. Norbert E. King officiating.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Degenhardt, route 2, Loyal, was given in marriage by the brides’ father to the son of Mr. and Mrs. John. X. Lynskey, Thief River Falls, Minnesota.  White gladioli and pink carnations decorated the church altar.  The church choir sang for the nuptials.

The bride wore a white floor length gown of peau taffeta.  The semi-empire bodice was fashioned with a portrait neckline and the A-shaped skirt was enhanced with a detachable court train.

She carried a white orchid surrounded by baby roses and stephanotis entwined with ivy, and her triple-tiered veil, fingertip in length was secured to a crown set with lace, pearls and crystals.

Miss Marlene Brenner, Green Bay was the maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Margaret Lynskey, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Mrs. Robert Gregorich, Greenwood.

The aides’ dresses were pink floor length gowns made with empire bodices and semi-sheath skirts.  The crepe frocks were trimmed with Swiss lace and the aides carried varied shades of pink carnations.

Jon Larson, Thief River Falls, Minnesota served as best man.  Groomsmen were John Ramsden, La Crosse, and Robert Gregorich, Greenwood.  Ushers were Roy Ashbeck and Dale Welch.

A wedding reception was held at K Corners and the dinner was served at the church dining hall.  Following a honeymoon spent at an undisclosed place the Lynskey’s will live at 2742 Louisiana Court in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Mrs. Lynskey, a 1963 graduate of Loyal High School, has been employed by the Honeywell Aeronautical Division in Minneapolis.  Her husband is a 1961 graduate of the University of Minnesota and is a mathematics teacher in St. Louis Park.
