College Notes (19 June 2013)

The following area students were named to the spring dean’s list of Crown College, St. Bonifacius, MN. To be eligible, students must have a semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher.

Chili - Joanna Johnson, music major; Loyal - Benjamin Brecht, music education major; Neillsville - Vincent Elmhorst, communication major.

Chelsea K. Schmidt, of Neillsville, was among the spring 2013 graduates at South Dakota State University, receiving a Doctor of Pharmacy in graduate school.

Kent Genteman of Granton was one of 49 students in the University of Wisconsin-River Falls’ college of Business and Economics recognized for exceptional scholarly efforts for the past year at an annual awards ceremony April 25. Nineteen students graduate summa cum lauded, magna cum laude and 30 students graduated with the distinction of senior merit. Genteman received a senior merit honor.

Jesse J. Clark of Neillsville received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the College of Letters and Science, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Lindsey Duerr of Granton was named to Concordia University, Nebraska’s, honors list for the second semester of the 2012-2013 academic year. The top 25 percent of undergraduate students who complete at least 12 credit hours qualify for the honors list.

Jennifer Quicker, of Neillsville, received a BA degree May 11 from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, in Winona. She is the daughter of Don Quicker and Cindy Grota.

Two Clark County students were among the top 25 May graduates of the university of Wisconsin-Stout. Rachel Conner of Neillsville and Elise Woik of Colby both graduated with a degree in psychology. They were recognized at the 50th annual Greater Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Education banquet.

The following area students were among the spring graduates of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay: Stephanie Kopp, majoring in business administration; Kaitlyn Back, democracy and justice studies; and Ellen Clark, interdisciplinary studies.

The following area students graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout at the May commencement ceremony:

Abbotsford - Clinton Ewert, Bachelor of Science (BS), engineering technology; Madison Medenwaldt, BS, human development and family studies; Chili - Timothy Esselman, BS, construction; Colby - Elise Woik, BS, Psychology; Dorchester - Troy Petznick, BS, engineering technology; Max Prestebak, BS, hotel restaurant and tourism; Granton - Alexander Rosandick, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), art; Loyal - Carmen Schweiger, BS, art education; Andrew Tetzlaff, BS, marketing and business administration; Neillsville - Rachel Conner, BS, Psychology; Ryan Kronberger, BS, hotel restaurant and tourism; Bryant Neville, BS, construction; Katie Thoma, BFA, art; Thorp - Dustin Schauer, BS, engineering technology; Withee - (believe a name is missing here) BS, graphic communications management

Brett Boeck, of Chili, was named to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean’s list for the 2013 spring semester. Students selected received a GPA of 3.4 or above during the semester.

Patrick Feldbruegge of Abbotsford graduated May 4 from Chadron State College, Chadron, NE, with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree.

Elizabeth Hebda of Dorchester has been named to the spring 2013 semester dean’s list of St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. She is a chemistry major and the daughter of James and Dawn Hebda. The dean’s list recognizes students with a semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher.

Mollie Duginski of Colby has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at Edgewood College in Madison. She is the daughter of Joe and Lori Duginski. Full-time students who maintain a 3.75 GPA are eligible for this honor.

Stephanie Bauer of Colby and Jenna Reynolds of Dorchester have been named to the 2013 spring dean’s list at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, IA. To be honored, students must be enrolled full-time and have earned a minimum 3.50 GPA.
