Grottke, Linda Lou (Marriage - 13 September 1969)

Miss Linda Lou Grottke, daughter of Mrs. Eva Grottke of Neillsville, and Dennis Edward Evanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Evanson of Wausau, were united in marriage Saturday at 3 p.m. in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Neillsville. The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed the double ring ceremony before 200 guests.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law Jerry Ehlers, before an altar of rust-colored ‘mums.

She was attired in a floor-length A-line gown of white bridal satin and Chantilly lace, fashioned with a jewel-trimmed scalloped neckline and long lace sleeves tapering to points over the wrists. The empire gown was accented with a bow at the waist and a square detachable train appliquéd with lace and sequins extended from the bodice. Her three-tiered bouffant veil was secured by a crystal crown. She carried a cascade of apricot and white ’mums trimmed with a white bow.

Miss Bridget West of Waukesha was maid-of-honor. Bridesmaid was Mrs. Roger Ingold, Jr., of Neillsville. They were attired in A-line gowns of apricot satin with empire waistlines. Apricot daisies enhanced the neckline and waistline, and chiffon flowed from the back bodice of the dresses. They wore matching head veils fastened to a fabric rose. Each carried a bouquet of apricot roses and white ’mums on a fern base.

Duane Evanson of Wausau served his brother as bestman. Roger Ingold, Jr., of Neillsville was groomsman.
Larry Keller and Ronnie Northup both of Neillsville, served as ushers.

Miss Tammy Glassbrenner was miniature bride. She wore a dress identical to that of the bride and carried a similar bouquet. Jeffrey Ehlers, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Victor Lehmann presided at the organ and Kendall Smith was soloist.

A wedding dinner was given at St. John’s school hall, and a reception was held in the evening at a local supper club.

Mrs. Evanson was graduated from Neillsville High School in 1967 and has been employed in a bank in Neillsville. Mr. Evanson graduated from Neillsville High School in 1965 and received a degree in mechanical design from the North Central Technical Institute at Wausau in 1968. He is employed as a mechanical design technician by the Barber-Colman Company in Loves Park, Ill.

Upon their return from a wedding trip to Michigan, they will reside at Rock Cut Tr. Court, 5126 Granite St., Loves Park, Ill.
