Lehmann, Victoria Frances (Marriage - 17 August 1969)

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers was the setting for the marriage of Miss Victoria Frances Lehmann daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Lehmann of Neillsville and James H. Vetting, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo A. Vetting of Rt. 4, River Road, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edward F. Stelter performed the double-ring ceremony August 17, before 70 guests. White gladioli decorated the church.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, approached the altar in a self-styled, floor-length peau de soie gown, with full lace sleeves. The back featured a brocade bow attached above the waist that extended to form a cathedral train. Her bouffant floor-length veil fell from a beaded lace flower headpiece which matched her sleeves. She carried a bouquet of white pompom, daisy ‘mums and variegated ivy.

Matron of honor was Mrs. Norbert A. Lehmann of Eau Claire. Mrs. Douglas Becker of Elgin, Ill., was bridesmaid, and Miss Claire Faville of Glenbeaulah, was junior bridesmaid. They wore gold brocade floor-length gowns, featuring jewelry necklines and sheer wrist-length sleeves, also designed by the bride. Their bow headpieces were of matching brocade, and each carried a crescent bouquet of gold and bronze ‘mums.

John Eggers of Manitowoc served as bestman. Eugene Meyer, also of Manitowoc, was groomsman. Norbert Lehmann of Eau Claire and Douglas Becker of Elgin, Ill., ushered.

“The Lord’s Prayer” was the vocal selection.

Gold and bronze ‘mums decorated Machute’s Supper Club where a reception and dinner were held for the wedding party and 70 guests

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire. She is employed in the Two Rivers School system, where she teaches elementary art. Mr. Vetting is a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc and is a machinist teacher at the Kettle Moraine School for Boys, Plymouth.

After August 24, Mr. and Mrs. Vetting will be at home at 1601 S. 16th Street, Manitowoc.
