Kocian, Dixie (4 JUL 1964)

Trinity Lutheran Church at Unity was the setting Saturday, July 4, 1964, at 1:30 p.m. when marriage vows were repeated by Miss Dixie Kocian and Darrel A. Talcott. The Rev. Robert Langseth performed the ceremony. Mrs. Carol Duvall was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Myrl Messer at the organ. The church was decorated with assorted garden flowers.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kocian, rural Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Talcott, Unity.

Miss Connie Kocian was her sister's maid of honor, adn Miss Darlene Weideman, abbotsford, adn Miss Sandra Loos, St. Paul, Minn., friend of the bride, served as bridesmaids.

Warren Talcott served his brother as best man, and Randy Kocian, brother of the bride, and Dennis Winkler, Stratford, a friend, served as groomsmen.

The bride appeared in a floor length gown of white peau de soie, the bodice featuring a scooped neckline, and the bell-shaped skirt accented with a chapel length train attached to a cummerbund, the entire gown accented with rhinestone appliques. Her veil of silk illusion was attached to a cabbage rose of peau de soie, accented with rhinestones. She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of lavender orchids.

Her attendants were attired in street length frocks of frosted ice blue peau de soie, the fitted bodices featuring bateau necklines, and the bell-shaped skirts accented with a back panel. Their headpieces were small cabbage roses of peau de soie and they carried crescent shaped bouquets of blue and white carnations.

A reception was held at Memorial Hall, Unity, followed by supper at the church parlors, and a wedding dance at the Sportsmen's Park, Colby.

The young couple will make their home at 1720 19 Ave. N.E. Minneapolis, Minn., where the groom is attending law school at the University of Minnesota, and the bride will be employed as a medical technician at St. Mary's Hospital, Minneapolis.
