Bayer, Nancy A. (12 JUN 1964)

Grace Methodist Church, Houghton was the scene of a candlelight wedding on June 12 at 7:30 p.m., uniting in marriage Miss Nancy Ann Bayer and Peter Lloyd Olson. The Rev. David Church performed the double ring ceremony.

Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bayer and Peter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Olson of Escanaba, Mich., formerly of Abbotsford.

The bride, escorted down the white carpeted aisle by her father, was wearing a gown of silk organza over taffeta, trimmed with appliques of lace embroidered with seed pearls, and crystal sequins. The bodice, in empire style, had a scoop neckline and long sleeves which tapered at the wrist. The skirt flared in princess style, with detachable chapel length train decorated with flat self-bows. Her wrist-length veil of silk illusion fell from a tiara of seed pearls and aurora crystals. She carried a cascade bouquet of white butterfly roses, stephanotis and ivy, centered around her going away corsage of sweetheart roses.

Robin Bayer served her sister as maid of honor. She was attired in a pink satin brocade gown with a floor length bell shaped skirt. She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of lavender asters and pink pompons.

Bridesmaids attending the bride were Miss Linnea Olson, sister of the groom, and Miss Joyce Wiedenhofer. Both bridesmaids wore identical dresses and hats and carried identical bouquets to that of the maid of honor.

The groom was attended by Bruce Lammi and Andrew Tezap. Ushers were Maurice Bowers and Phillip Belisle.

The mother of the bride wore a medium blue lace and chiffon dress with a matching floral hat. The mother of the groom was attired in a beige silk sheath with a matching jacket and floral hat. The maternal grandmother, Mrs. Henry Rompf, wore a teal blue lace suit with pink hat. All wore corsages of pink sweetheart roses.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Douglas House for relatives and friends. Guests attended from Detroit, Escanaba, Wisconsin, Minnesota and California.

The couple planned a Canadian honeymoon. For going sway, the bride wore a three-piece navy blue suit with red accessories.

The bride is a graduate of Houghton High School and a recent graduate of Suomi College. The grooms i a graduate of Escanaba High School and will receive his master's degree from Michigan Tech in August in Civil Engineering.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Olson will locate temporarily in Vancouver, Wash., after Sept. 1st, where Mr. Olson has accepted a position with the Federal Bureau of Roads.

The rehearsal dinner was given by the parents of the bridegroom for 37 guests at the Copperama in Houghton.
