Bruss, Albert W. (22 NOV 1874 - 8 JUN 1965)

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, June 11, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, for Albert William Bruss, Colby, who died at the age of 89 at Wausau on Monday, June 8, 1965. The Rev. Harold Woodworth will offiiciate and burial will be made in North Spencer Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were managed by Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Albert Bruss was born Nov. 22, 1874 in Germany. He came to this area at the age of 4, and on Nov. 6, 1902 he was married to the former Emilia Schwantes, who died April 19, 1963. He worked as a cheesemaker in the area for many years before retiring in Colby. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1909.

He is survived by one son, Elroy Bruss, Cedarburg, Wis., and four daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Gladys) Beawer, Hamburg, Mrs. Fred (Bernice) Kresse, Milwaukee; Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Hahn, West Allis, and Mrs. Gladwin (Anita) Bock, Allen Park, Mich. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Ida Seefeldt, Spencer, and three brothers, Frank, August and Otto Bruss, Spencer. He has eight living grandchildren.

Albert Bruss was preceded in death by his wife, Emilia, one sister, Mrs. Gusta Neuenfeldt, and three brothers, Robert, Richard and Herman Bruss.
