Watenpuhl, Emil (12 March 1894 - 28 May 1969)

Emil Watenpuhl, 75, of Eau Claire and a former resident of Rural Neillsville, died May 28 after suffering a heart attack May 9. The funeral was held from St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Eau Claire Saturday. Burial with military rites was made in the Lutheran Cemetery there.

Mr. Watenpuhl was born March 12, 1894, in Fairchild. He was married to Ann Haas in Fall Creek on November 13, 1921. They lived in the Fairchild area until 1935, when they moved onto a farm near Neillsville. They settled on the farm now owned by his son, Arvid, south of Neillsville, and lived there until they retired and moved to Eau Claire in 1956. Mr. Watenpuhl was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; two sons, Arvid of Neillsville and Arlan of West Allis; a daughter, Mrs. Virglee Le Due of Eau Claire; and six grandchildren.

Those attending the services from here included: Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Drescher, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Drescher and Virginia.
