Campbell, Helen (9 April 1896 - 25 May 1969)

Mrs. Ernest (Helen) Campbell, 73, of Neillsville, died Sunday noon at Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were to be held from the Georgas Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Grether officiating. Burial was to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Campbell was born April 9, 1896, in River Falls, to Ruben and Stella (Brown) Wilson. She received her education there and came to Clark County at the age of 16 and made her home with the Theodore Brown family. She worked out until her marriage to Ernest Campbell on April 12, 1916, in Neillsville. They farmed in the Town of Weston until moving to the city in 1932.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Florence) Anderegg of Germantown; three sons, George of Neillsville, Edward of Abilene, Tex., and Gordon, address unknown; three sisters, Mrs. Bell Breasden of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Mable Overly of Bremerton, Wash., and Mrs. Marie Nyman of Virginia, Minn.; and one brother, George Wilson of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Wilson-Heintz post 2241 VFW Auxiliary, and Haugen-Richmond Post No. 73, American Legion.

Funeral services were held May 28, from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Ernest Campbell, who died May 25.

Pallbearers were: Alvin Jacob, Paul Jacob, Leon Metcalf, Fred haut, George Shaw and Ed Kroll. Ellis Wall sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “He Leadeth Me,” accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

Those from out-of-town attending included: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Campbell and family of Abilene, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderegg of Germantown; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Campbell and family of Rockford, Ill.; George Wilson of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderegg of New Berlin; Mrs. Evelyn Jaeger of West Allis; Mrs. Henry Kurz of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Boon, Clayton Boon, Mrs. Lewis Kaudy, Mrs. Edward Anderegg, and Mrs. Edward Johnson, all of Greenwood; Louis Wilson of Marshfield; and Irving Gower of Granton.
