Greenwood (8 May 1969)

Mrs. David Logue attended the United Church of Christ pastor’s wives retreat held at St. Benedict’s center for Christian Unity at Madison Tuesday and Wednesday sponsored by the Women’s Guild of Zion United Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kenyon returned Wednesday from Green Bay, where they spent a week at the home of the son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Humke. While there they attended the centennial of a Methodist church.

Mrs. Olive Newman returned to Milwaukee Tuesday after a three-week visit at the home of her sister, Mrs. Alice Perkins, and with other relatives.

S/Sgt John Zepaltas, son of Mrs. John Zepaltas, Sr., of Greenwood, arrived Thursday from Vietnam, where he was stationed the last 13 months on his second tour of duty. He will report for duty the end of May at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He will be accompanied by his wife and their daughters, Deborah and Sharon, who had lived in Greenwood during his absence overseas.

The Esther Circle of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will meet today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Louise Ellingson. Mrs. Edward Rossow will entertain the Naomi Circle at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 14.

Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah were their children, who came to help their father celebrate his birthday, Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Karlen and family of Owen, Verlan of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stark and family of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fitzel and son of Wonder Lake, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Affield of Woodstock, Ill.
