Selma Zenker (26 Apr 1870 - 18 Feb 1955)

Mrs. Robert Zenker, 84, who died at her home in the Town of Little Black Feb. 18, was interred in a local cemetery Monday of this week following funeral rites in Community Evangelical church in Medford. The Rev. Fred W. Kollath, pastor, officiated at the rites at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Zenker, the former Selma Bilz, had been a resident of this area (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) for over 50 years, coming to a farm one mile north of the village in 1902. She resided here about 15 years and then moved to Medford township, where she lived until 1936, when she moved to a farm west of Stetsonville.

Mrs. Zenker was born April 26, 1870, in Saxony, Germany, and she and Hugo Zenker were married in Germany in 1891. He died in 1939.

Six children survive: Hugo Zenker, Park Falls; Mrs. Joe (Viola) Werhand, Medford; Mrs. Henry (Clara) Kirschmayer, Milwaukee; Edwin Zenker, Medford; Elmer Zenker, Stetsonville; and Carl Zenker, Milwaukee. Eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two sisters also survive. Three sons and a daughter preceded her in death.
