Berrett, Myrtia L. (1 January 1875 - 31 March 1969)

Funeral services were held last Friday from the missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood for Mrs. Myrtia L. Berrett, 94, who died in Neillsville, March 31. The Rev. LeRoy Gross officiated. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery. Mrs. Berrett was a charter member of the missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood.

Myrtia L. Cook was born in Missouri on January 1, 1875. She lived in Sheboygan County as a baby and moved to Loyal when she was seven years of age. She was married there to William James Berrett on September 17, 1902. They farmed in the Town of Beaver for some time, then moved to Oregon, but returned to their farm in Beaver after two years. Mr. Berrett died March 17, 1921. Mrs. Berrett lived with her children for many years and for the last five years lived at Memorial Home in Neillsville.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Ione) Brandt of Greenwood, Mrs. Alvin (Luella) Wendt of Neillsville and Mrs. Emory (Genevieve) Voie of Fond du Lac; two sons, Verland Berrett of Greenwood and Roland Berrett of Rhinelander; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The following grandsons acted as pallbearers: Robert Worden and Nyle Brandt of Greenwood, Edward Weigert of Fond du Lac, Melvin Wendt of Livingston, Mont., Ronald Tomlinson and Ronald Hribar, both of Milwaukee.
