Holub, Frieda (26 October 1885 - 6 March 1969)

Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Frieda Holub, 83, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died March 6, in Neillsville. The Rev. William Dushek officiated at services from the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville. Burial was made in the Dells Dam Cemetery.

Mrs. Holub, the former Frieda Karela, was born October 26, 1885, in Bohemia. She came to the United States in 1901, locating in Chicago, Ill. On February 1, 1905, she was married in Pine City, Minn., to Joseph Holub, Sr., who died in 1948. They moved to Emilay, S. D., where they homesteaded. They later moved to Michigan and came to Clark County in 1914. They farmed in the Town of Levis until 1946, and following the death of Mr. Holub their son, Edward, bought the home farm. She since had made her home with her daughter.

She is survived by five children: Joseph, Jr., of Alma Center; George of Greenwood; Ervin of Neillsville; Edward of Neillsville; and Mrs. Fred (Lillian) McCarty of Neillsville. Two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Smith of North Judson, Ind., and Mrs. Blanche Paulson of San Pierre, Ind., and a brother, John Komarek, also survive. Other survivors include 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Joseph, George, Erwin, and Edward Holub, Fred McCarty, and Charles Shramek.

Bliss, Tex.; Mrs. Lorraine Smagacz, James and Lori of Wisconsin Rapids; Roscoe Sears of Granton; Ronald Gee of Merrillan; Mrs. Frank Zlesak and Clarence Hogue of Merrillan; Mrs. Gordon Christopherson, Mrs. Don Clark, Mrs. Andy Djubenski and Mrs. Archie Hendrickson, all of Greenwood; Mrs. James Marek of Merrillan; and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice of Humbird.
