Singer, Audrey "Tootie" F. (Borgemoen) (9 OCT 1922 - 26 MAY 2012)

Former Chelsea resident Audrey "Tootie" F. Singer, 89, Columbia Heights, Minn., died on Saturday, May 26 at Crestview Lutheran Home in Columbia Heights, where she had resided the past eight years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chelsea, with Rev. Randal Jeppesen officiating. Burial will be at Chelsea Community Cemetery in the Town of Chelsea. Pallbearers are Rocky Hanson, Matt Tienter, David and Dona Brandner and Morgan and Brooke Brandner.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Audrey Borgemoen was born on October 9, 1922 in Curtiss to the late Oluf and Hannah (Johnson) Borgemoen. She attended Chelsea Elementary Schools and was a graduate of Westboro High School.

On November 2, 1941 in Chicago, Ill., she married Norman B. Singer, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1980. She worked at the Rib Lake Shoe Factory until 1959 when she moved to Chippewa Falls and worked at the Hallie Glove Factory until her retirement. She was also a part time bartender in Chippewa Falls. In 2003 she moved to Minnesota to reside near her family.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, past member of Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls and its Woman's Guild and the Lake Hallie Eagles Club. She enjoyed flowers, crocheting, reading, cooking and the log cabin at the lake in Jim Falls.

Survivors include a daughter, Rona Lee (Herb, who was her son-in-law and best friend) Hanson of New Brighton, Minn.; a sister, Arla Jean (Dwaine) Krause of Westboro; and two grandchildren, Rocky Hanson and Tamara Tienter.
