Harry Sauter (28 Mar 1920 – 9 Nov 1954)

Military graveside rites were accorded Harry Sauter, 34, Friday at Dorchester Memorial cemetery, with a squad from the Abbotsford unit of the Wisconsin National Guard firing the final salute for a departed comrade. Mr. Sauter died Tuesday evening, Nov. 9, at his home in Tomahawk, and funeral services were held from a funeral home there. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran church, officiated at the burial rites here.

Harry Sauter was born on a farm in the Town of Holton, and moved to Tomahawk with his parents a number of years ago. He served in World War II, and was operating an automobile service station at the time of his death. He leaves a widow and three children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sauter, Tomahawk; a sister, Mrs. Russell (Amanda) Lind, Elmwood Park, Ill.; two brothers, Elmer Sauter, Hartford, and Lawrence Sauter, Princeton.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sauter, August Sauter, Mrs. Tillie Weideman, Arlene and James, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kalepp attended the rites in Tomahawk for their nephew and cousin.
