Hart, Betty Jane Ann (Dassow) (4 MAR 1944 - 4 MAY2012)

Betty Jane Ann Hart, 68, Loyal, died on Friday, May 4 at her home. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 9 at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal, with Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiating.

The former Betty Dassow was born on March 4, 1944 in Medford, to Elmer and Lorain (Olson) Dassow. She was raised on the family farm in the Town of Greenwood and attended Medford area schools.

On May 12, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford, she married Beryl Hart, who survives. They moved to Marshfield in 1963 where she worked as a cook and at Figi's, and was a homemaker, mother and wife. They moved to Loyal in 1981.

She was a member of Clark County Homemakers, and enjoyed playing 500 rummy, kings corners, cribbage, bingo, crafts, gardening, collecting wind chimes, garage sales, auctions and jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother, Lorain Dassow of Medford; five children, David of Menomonie, Rosemarie (Paul) Salzwedel and Dennis, both of Marshfield, Rita (Larry Jr.) Schreiner of Stratford and Donald (Lori) of Granton; a sister, Ruth Dassow of Dorchester; a brother, Norman C. (Judy) of Medford; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Daniel in infancy; and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hart.
