Rossow, Charles William (12 March 1916 - 11 January 1969)

Charles William Rossow, 52, of Rt. 1 Owen, died Saturday in Neillsville of a linge4ring illness.

Mr. Rossow, son of Charles and Tena (Larson) Rossow, was born March 12, 1916, in the Town of Beaver. He received his education in the Town of York School. He was married December 20, 1949, in Granton to Mildred Herzog. They lived in the Withee and Greenwood area.

Mr. Rossow was a licensed Cheesemaker employed by the North Central Dairyman’s Cooperative Cheese Factory in Owen. He was a veteran of World War II and served in central Europe, northern France and the Rhineland. He received his discharge September 24, 1945.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Catherine, Mary and Debra, at home; three sons, Charles, Jr., of Wausau, Robert of Neillsville and Donald at home; his mother, Mrs. Tena Rossow of Loyal; three sisters, Mrs. Lila Dankemyer, of Nekoosa, Mrs. Gilbert (Beulah) Bremer of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Schmidt of Pearson; and five brothers, Roy, Glenn and Verlyn of Loyal, Mervin of Junction City, Ore., and Gilbert of Brookfield.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Graveside rites were in charge of the Wallis-Hinker American Legion Post, No. 238.

Funeral services for Charles Rossow were held last week Tuesday from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Paul Brandt, Paul Schmidt, Gilbert Bremer, Duane Dankemyer, Conrad Krogness and Frank Dankemyer. The Rev. and Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold sang, “Does Jesus Care” and “Just as I Am,” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Don Warner.
