Rendmeister, Eugene F. (Gene) (15 November 1929 - 26 March 2013)

Eugene (Gene) F. Rendmeister, 83, of Merrillan, formerly of Marshfield, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home.

He was born Nov. 15, 1929, in the Town of Sherry to the late Frank and Grace Rendmeister. After graduation from high school, he married Yvonne Eckes Nov. 27, 1952. He was employed by Marshfield Water and Light. He retired from there in 1978 and purchased the Thunderbird Roller Rink in Hatfield. This was one of his dreams for years, and when the chance came up, he could not wait to pursue this. After many years of planning, he built his dream house on Arnold Creek in Hatfield. This became Gene’s home place where he enjoyed the company of family and friends as often as he could. Gene was always there to offer advice, share his knowledge, crack a few jokes and overall, just enjoy every minute of life. Throughout the years, Gene was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, spending time with family and sitting around campfire.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne; his six children, Rhonda Rendmeister of Neillsville, Renee (Allan) Drescher of Green Bay, Rand (Lisa) Rendmeister of Merrillan, Ryan (Jeanne) Rendmeister of Hewitt, Roxanne (Doug) Schulz of Chili, and Rise (Ed) Schoen of Neillsville; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a celebration of Gene’s life at a later date.

Online condolences may be left at www.cremationsociety-wi.com.  The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.
