Luchterhand, Frank (11 April 1874 - 23 December 1968)

Funeral services were held December 26 for Frank Luchterhand, 94, of Loyal, who died here December 23. The Rev. William Humlie officiated at services from Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Mavis Rossow, accompanied by Gladys Olsen, sang a solo.

Pallbearers were: Harold Dahl, Harold Beilke, Norman Luchterhand, Gerald Luchterhand and Robert Herdrich.

Frank Luchterhand was born in the Town of Loyal on April 11, 1874. His marriage to Alvina Wehling took place April 16, 1896. At this time they purchased a farm south of Spokeville. They farmed there until September, 1920, when they moved into their home in Loyal. He was in the implement business several years with his brother, Albert.

Mr. Luchterhand, a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, had been making his home in Neillsville at Memorial Nursing Home.

His survivors are two sons, William of Marshfield and Alvin of unity; two daughters, Mrs. Reno (Elsie) Herdrich of Loyal, and Mrs. Edward (Lizzie) Greeler of Neillsville; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

People from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bitney of La Crosse; Bruce Bitney and two sons of Rapid City, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Berg and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fink of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Greeler and family of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kuehnhold and Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Shupe of Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. William Luchterhand, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Luchterhand, of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herdrich and family and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Holmes of Eau Claire.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Luchterhand and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Luchterhand of Unity; Mrs. Laura Luchterhand and Mrs. Gerald Luchterhand and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Luchterhand and family, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Sternitzky and family, all of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beilke and family and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Luchterhand and family of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Greeler, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Greeler, Hattie Forman, Alice Lavene and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Boh, all of Neillsville.
