Steve Drinka (19 May 1904 - 8 Nov 1957)

Funeral rites for Stephen Drink, 53, were held from St. Louis Catholic church here (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) Tuesday, Nov. 12. The Rev. Father Gerald F. Schuh officiated at the funeral mass, and the Children’s Choir sang for the service.

Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Fuchsgruber Funeral service which had charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Arthur Greiner of Stetsonville, Leo Markowski and Charles Kovach of Owen, John Lapp, Charles Lapp and Ernest Johnson.

Mr. Drinka died at his home 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, following a heart attack. He had suffered a heart condition for several years.

Stephen Drinka was born May 19, 1904, at Waukegan, Ill. And received his education there. While on a visit to Czechoslovakia in 1927, he and Agnes Drinka (no relation then) were married on Feb. 22. He returned to the United States with his bride in June of that year, and they took residence in North Chicago, where he was employed as a welder. In 1945 the family moved to this community settling on a farm 3 ½ miles west and a ½ mile north of the village residing there since.

Surviving are his widow and four children: John, Abbotsford; Rose (Mrs. John Greiner) Stetsonville; Theresa and Mary Ann at home. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph and John, Waukegan; two sisters, Mrs. Polly Glogovsky and Mrs. Ann Daniels, North Chicago. A sister preceded him in death.
