Loeffler, Rosa (7 May 1868 – 28 Dec. 1942)

Mrs. August Loeffler died very suddenly of heart failure at 2:30 a.m., Monday, at her home in the Town of Johnson. Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock at the home of her son, Otto; the Rev. Murphy of Madison, officiating. Internment was made in the Marshfield cemetery.

The pallbearers were Walter Mews, Harvey Zell, Melvin Bell, Lloyd Mosher, of Marshfield; Charles Bredle, of Auburndale, and Arnold Kallien, Athens.

Rosa Hedler was born May 7, 1868 at Kiel. She was united in marriage to August Loeffler on Oct. 1, 1888 at Sheboygan. About 38 years ago they came to the Town of Johnson and were some of the pioneer farmers in this community. They retired from this work and for several years lived with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Loeffler, also of the Town of Johnson.

Mrs. Loeffler was up all day Sunday assisting some with the house work and did not complain of being ill. She became ill during the night and passed away before a doctor arrived.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Otto, three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Clara) Zell, Mrs. Anton (Hilda) Peham and Mrs. Frieda Strebe, all of Marshfield; 12 grand children and 21 great grand children; one sister, Mrs. Clara Katzmeier, Kiel; and one brother, William Loeffler, Mass, Mich.

Relatives from away in attendance at the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Zell, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Peham, Mrs. Frieda Strebe and daughter, Eris, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mews, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Mosher, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bredle and Mrs. William Hilker, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bell and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Zell, all of Marshfield.
