Weigel, Frank P. (13 Sept. 1915 – 17 Dec. 2008)

Frank P. Weigel, 93, town of McMillan, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Bethel Center in Arpin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. The visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Frank P. Weigel, 93, a former town of McMillan resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Bethel Center in Arpin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate and Suzanne Golden will be the organist for St. John's Church Funeral Choir. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hewitt. The visitation will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Rembs Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at St. John's Catholic Church.

Frank was born Sept. 13, 1915, in the Town of McMillan, Marathon County, to Frank and Anna (Grehl) Weigel. He married Rosalie M. Chariton in November of 1943. She died Jan. 10, 1991. He was self-employed as a truck driver. He taught himself to play the concertina and enjoyed playing at many weddings and parties.

He is survived by his children, Frances (William) Wald of Gilman, Elizabeth (Roger) Dvorak of Auburndale, Theresa (Dennis) Kelley of Fond du Lac, Katherine (the late George) Sheldon of Clearwater, Fla., Michael Weigel of Sheboygan, William (Rita) Weigel of Marshfield, Mary (Robert) Fure of Marshfield, Joseph (Roxanne) Weigel of Marshfield, Frank T. Weigel of Marshfield, Emmericka (Ronald) Sutton of Stratford, Julie (LeRoy) Ostricki of Stratford, Patricia (Pat) Varsho of Marshfield, James Weigel of Marshfield, Paul (Darylann) Weigel of Pittsville and John Weigel of Lindsay. He also is survived by 49 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister, Cora Sutton of Marshfield.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, a son, Richard, and a sister, Veronica Plath. Memorials may be designated in his name to St. John the Baptist Parish, Marshfield.
