Fink, Laurence W. (July 24, 1923 - December 19, 2009)

 

Laurence W. Fink, 86, died Saturday December 19, 2009 at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander. 


Larry was born in Athens, on July 24, 1923 son of Carl and Clara (Haydam) Fink.

 

He served in the Armed Forces in Germany after WWII.

 

He moved to the Woodruff area in 1972 with his mother, Clara; sister, Charolette; and brother Robert when the logging company moved north. Larry retired from a family logging business in 1994, to spend more time in Canada fishing. You could spend hours with Larry listening to the stories of the old logging camps and fishing trips with his many fishing buddies. Larry had been at Friendly Village Nursing home since July of 2004.

 

Larry is survived by his sister, Charolette Fink, Merrill; sister in laws, Bernice Fink, Woodruff, and Emily Fink of Athens.  He is also survived by his nephews, Karl (Sally) Fink, Minocqua, Michael (Heidi) Fink, Minocqua,  James (Racquel) Fink, Wauwatosa, Dennis Fink, Athens, John (Joanne) Fink, Wausau, Edward (Carla) Fink, Athens, Susan (David) Belter, Athens, Patricia (Michael) Knab, Merrill, and Nancy (Rick) Ewan, Athens; and many great nephews and nieces.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Wilfred Fink, Robert Fink and Raymond Fink. 


The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on December 23, 2009, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff with visitation at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Burial will be at Forest Garden Memorial Cemetery in Woodruff. 

 

Bolger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
