Schneider, Betsy Jo (Haines) (May 11, 1956 - April 23, 2009)

Betsy Jo Schneider, 52, Wausau, died Wednesday, April 23, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Palliative Care.

She was born May 11, 1956, in Ithaca, NY, daughter of the late Dr. John and Mary Helen (Wynne) Haines, Athens.

Betsy Jo was a 1974 graduate of Athens High School.

She was a realtor for Coldwell Banker Action Realty since 1998, and a bartender for Iozzo’s Italian Restaurant. Some of her favorite pastimes included snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and boating, and in her younger years, horseback riding.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Helen Haines, Colby; her siblings, Jeffrey (Lori) Haines, Athens; Kathy (Jeff Puhl) Haines, Clayton, and Jacqueline (Glenn) Oleson, Abbotsford. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, including her Godson, Jeremy (Renee) Haines, Athens; Melanie (Troy) Ellenbecker, Edgar; Jonathon (Starr) Haines, Athens; Jeffrey Haines II, Athens; Chrissi Schaetzl, Abbotsford; and Nicki Schaetzl, Abbotsford. She is further survived by seven grand-nieces and nephews, Eric, Parker, Damien, Drew, Dakota, Alonna, and Gavin, cousins, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, at Brainard Funeral Home in Wausau. The Reverend Kenneth Dix presided.
