Masanz, Clarence D. (14 July 1926 - 9 May 2008)

STRATFORD -- Clarence D. Masanz, 81, a former Stratford area resident, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Halder.

The visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church in Halder.

HALDER -- Clarence D. "The Governor" Masanz, 81, a former Stratford area resident, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Halder, with Rev. Barnabas Kyea officiating. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Don Tremelling, Don Anderson, Mark Kafka, Duane Knetter, Mark Lukas, Ronald Masanz, James Masanz and Richard Masanz.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at St. Patrick's Church, Halder.

Mr. Masanz was born July 14, 1926, in the town of Cleveland, Marathon County, to John and Mary (Bauer) Masanz and attended Washburn School near Halder. He had farmed in the town of Cleveland his entire life.

Clarence was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where he served as a greeter and had been an usher for more than 50 years. He enjoyed polka music and dancing.

He is survived by three sisters, Agnes Nowicki of Marshfield, Doris (Frank) Feltz of Edgar and Lillian (Charles) Rehlinger of Marshfield. He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers, Mark, Joseph, Gerhardt, Roman and Felix Masanz; and two sisters, Margaret Wiesman and Mildred Nowak.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richardson and Dr. Claessens, the staff at Golden Living Three Oaks and Palliative Care and Father Barnabas Kyea.

Memorials may be designated in his name to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Saint Joseph's Palliative Care.
