Giese, Robert (25 Dec. 1928 - 15 May 1992) Robert Giese

Athens - Services for Robert "Bobby" Giese, 63, formerly of Athens, who died Friday at Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens, with the Reverend Gary Paul officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church. A scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by military rites at 7:45 p.m. both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Athens Cemetery.

He was born December 25, 1928, in Marathon County to Edward and Ruth (Jacobitz) Giese. He married Carol Brandt January 31, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens.

He was a dairy farmer in the Town of Halsey until he retired in 1973. He served as a supervisor for the Halsey Town Board for eight years and was a drummer for the Robert Allen Orchestra for many years.

He was a member of the Andres J. Sutter VFW Post 8527 of Athens and a past member of the American Legion Post 4 of Athens.

Survivors include his wife of Wausau; three daughters, Mr. Thomas (Kathryn) Mason and Karen Geise, both of Wausau, and Mrs. Glen (Sandra) Haas of Schofield; five sisters, Mr. George (Shirley) Gluch and Mrs. Daniel (Rosemary) Boxrucker, both of Rhinelander, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Streich of Merrill, Mrs. Harvey (Joan) Kurahl of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ronald (Jacqueline) Bergman of Tripoli; three brothers, James and Thomas, both of Athens, and Edward "Butch" of Milwaukee; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
