Writz, Allan (27 Dec. 1939 - 25 Sept. 1999)

Allan "Sam" Writz, 59, Athens, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, the result of an automobile accident.

He was born Dec. 27, 1939, the son of Jacob and Irene (Ellenbecker) Writz. He was divorced. Writz served overseas in the U.S. Army, and retired from GTE Telephone in 1992.

Survivors include his mother; Irene Writz, Athens; and four sisters, Geraldine Scheve, Alaska; Maggie Guralski, Monroe; Shirley Bergman, Athens; and Debbie Klinger, Bayfield. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Kraemer Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Pallbearers will be Kenny Writz, Leon Writz, John Writz, Jeff Ellenbecker, Mike Ellenbecker, and Glen Luetschwager.
