Lloyd Alfred Oelrich was born July 18, 1931, in Marathon County to Alfred and Ruth (Ziehlsdorff) Oelrich.

Lloyd graduated from Spencer High School in 1949, attended Concordia College in St. Paul, Minn., in 1956-58 and transferred to and graduated from Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Neb., in 1960 with a B.S. in education. Mr. Oelrich taught at Saint James Lutheran School in Shawano from 1960 to 1969. Lloyd came to Marshfield in 1969 and taught sixth grade at Lincoln Elementary school until 1994. He was a volunteer teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in Marshfield from 1994-96 and active with the church, serving on many boards throughout the years, preaching, teaching and leading Bible study classes. His greatest joy was sharing God's word through preaching and numerous Bible study classes throughout the years. His Wednesday morning Bible class and friends at Parkview Apartment held a special place in his heart.

On June 24, 1961, Lloyd was married to Marilyn Henke. They later divorced. On Oct. 18, 1980, Lloyd was united in marriage to Kathleen O'Bright.

Lloyd is lovingly survived by his wife Kathleen, Marshfield; children, Sarah (Brady) Lieuwen, Sioux Falls, S.D., Lisa (Tim) Smith, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Melodi English, Cross Plains; sister Cora (William) Robinson, Middlefield, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Austen, Evan and Mareda Smith, Joshua and Hannah Bunting and Ella Lieuwen.

His parents; brothers, Howard and Jerrold; and one sister, Bernice, preceded Mr. Oelrich in death.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Przybylinski for his tender care of Lloyd and Ministry Home Hospice personnel for their loving care and attention over the past three weeks.
