Erickson, Gertrude D. (30 Aug. 1920 - 14 Aug. 1996)

Gertrude D. Erickson, 75, of 113 W. Doege St. died at 5 p.m. Aug. 14, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital hospice care unit, where she had been admitted on Aug. 2.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gary Albert will officiate and music will be provided by Jolne Albert, organist, and William Allen, soloist.

Burial will be in Slidre Cemetery in the town of Marshfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Facklam, Merle, Robert and Norman Erickson, James Cramer and Harold Zieher.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Hansen's Funeral Chapel and again after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. An Eagles Auxiliary memorial service will be held at 3:45 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

She was born Aug. 30, 1920, in the town of Brighton, Marathon County, to Louis and Ella (Luepke) Cramer. She was married to Melvin N. Erickson on Nov. 20, 1941, in Spencer.

Mrs. Erickson was educated in town of Brighton schools and was a graduate of Spencer High School. After her education she worked for a short time. Following their marriage, the couple then farmed in the town of Arpin for several years. They later moved to Marshfield, where she was employed by Johnson Garment Corp. until her retirement.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of Eagles Club in Marshfield.

Her survivors include her daughter, Beverly (James) Lambert of Rhinelander; her sons, Richard (Ingrid) Erickson of Madison and John (Gloria) Erickson of Vesper; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Randy Facklam of Wisconsin Rapids and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Cramer of Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 7, 1971; two granddaughters and one great-grandson; her parents; her sister, Mabel Facklam, and her brother, Wilmer Cramer.

Memorials may be designated to the family, who will establish a memorial at a later date.
