EAU CLAIRE -- Robert Joseph Yunk, 79, Park Falls, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, from a logging accident. He was born Oct. 1, 1920, and grew up in the town of Eisenstein.

He married Laura M. Gotz on June 10, 1943. The couple made their home in the town of Lake. He worked at the Flambeau Paper Mill for 27 years and later for 12 years at Koshak Construction, Park Falls. After retirement, he continued working, traveling, hunting and enjoying the woods.

He is survived by his loving wife, Laura; seven children, Carol (William) Merten, Park Falls; Patricia (Russel) Herdina, Wausau; Ronald (Kathy), Park Falls; Mary (John) Schwartz, Iola; Joan (Frank) Yunk-Arnold, Illinois; Donna Yunk, Superior; Randal (Heidi), Park Falls; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five brothers, Ernest (Dorothy); Edward (Anita); James (Arlene); Richard (Bernice) and Peter; three sisters, Grace Brimstein; Marion Grover; and Marge (Mel) Mrotek; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Peter and Rose (Wooide) Yunk; and a brother, Bernard.

A memorial mass will be at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Park Falls, with Fr. James Jackson officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 9:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the service today at the church.

Interment will be at Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.
