Alice Froland (11 Mar 1894 – 9 July 1919)

Just as day opened sweet and clear, on Wednesday morning of last week, one of Dorchester’s fairest blossoms dropped off into a sweet sleep to be awakened only on the resurrection morn.

Alice Harriet, beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Froland, was born on the farm near the village on March 11, 1894 and died on Wednesday morning July 9, 1919 at the age of 25 years 3 months and 11 days, of quick consumption following an attack of influenza. She had pneumonia more than a year ago which left her lungs in a weakened condition and the attack of “flu” last winter started the dread work, tho’ her hustling business energy kept her going until late in the spring, when she was confined to her bed.

Sweet, friendly and loved by all, she will be missed by all her friends but especially by those dear ones whom she loved so well.

She leaves to mourn her loss her parents, one brother Wesley, of Medford, two sisters, Mrs. A. Fritche and Miss Blanch, her grandparents, Mrs. O. Froland and Mr. and Mrs. H. Kayhart, besides numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Little White Church, Rev. E. W. Marks officiating.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Froland; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kayhart, Mr. and Mrs. Asplin and Mrs. Geo. Harper and daughter of Greenwood; Mrs. McLeod, Mrs. Niggerman and Mrs. Kennedy and daughter of Rib Lake; Mrs. Anna Pazdernik of Rhinelander; John Garyue of Abbotsford and Misses Johnson and Valquist and Mrs. Konshok and daughter of Granton.
