Charlotte Beisner (28 Jun 1867 – 25 Apr 1941)

Funeral rites for Mrs. William Beisner, 73, pioneer resident of the town of Mayville, who passed away last Friday morning, were held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the home and 2:00 p.m. from St. Peter’s church, the Rev. J. J. Brandt officiating.

Mrs. Beisner, who had been in ill health for the past two years because of cancer, was the last surviving charter member of St. Peter’s church and had been a useful and active member of the community for years. She was born in Hanover, Germany, on June 28, 1867 and came directly to the town of Mayville from there in 1880. On November 11, 1883 she was married to Wm. C. Beisner at the old log school house in Dist. 7.

Eleven children were born to this union, three preceding Mrs. Beisner in death. Mr. Beisner also preceded her in death on September 30, 1933, as did three brothers.

Seven of the surviving eight sons acted as pallbearers; Richard, of Toppen, N. D., being unable to be present, Henry Beisner was an honorary pallbearer and William, Eric, Fred, Arthur, Herman and Albert were active pallbearers.

The following grandchildren acted as flower girls: Edith and Hildegaard Beisner, Faye Peissig and Jimmy and Billy Miesner.

Surviving are eight sons, Henry, William Jr., Eric, Fred, Albert, and Herman, all of Dorchester; Richard of Toppen, N. D., and Arthur of Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Gust Laack, Abbotsford; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Beisner and sons, Billy and Jimmie; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Seefeldt; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bruesurtz and Mr. Herman Newmann, all of Spencer. Gorman and Graydon Beisner and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Feldbruegge, Milwaukee; Mrs. Gust Laack, Mrs. Harry Mandel and Mrs. Floyd Benning, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stock and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Laack, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Butler, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Mueller, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weller, Mr. Chas. Weller, and Edwin, William and Walter Mueller, all of Colby.
