Jenness, Nancy Lou (18 SEP 1965)

Miss Nancy Lou Jenness, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Jenness of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Robert John Hmielak, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hmielak of Thorp, on Saturday, Sept. 18, 1965, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in a double ring ceremony. Father Brockman officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her father Elwood Jenness.

For her wedding, the bride wore a floor length bridal gown of peau de soie, styled with a bateau neckline and elbow length sleeves featuring a flattering ruffle of Venice lace.

The A-line skirt was highlighted by an empire waistline complemented by the lace ruffle. A removable chapel length train edged in lace fell from the waistline stopped by a flat bow.

Her fingertip veil of pure silk illusion was secured to a delicate cabbage rose of peau.

Her bridal bouquet was of white roses, stephanotis and ivy.

Miss Sue Verkuilen of Thorp, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Miss Pat Hmielak of Appleton, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. The bride's attendants wore floor length dresses in burgundy and petal pink, styled with empire bodices of velvet and sheath skirts of crepe.

A petal cluster in pink held their bouffant bustle veils.

Dave Teclaw of Thorp, friend of the groom, was best man. Arlin Jenness, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Ushers were Marvin Verkuilen and Al Ciolkosz, all of Thorp.

Dinner was served at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Hall to over 150 guests. Reception, lunch and dancing were held at Club 73.

The bride, a 1962 graduate of Thorp High School, was employed for 2 years as medical stenographer at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, and 8 months at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire. The groom, a 1957 graduate of Thorp High School, was in the Air Force 4 1/2 years as electronic technician.

The couple honeymooned on Mackinac Island and left Saturday, the 25th, for Osnard, Calif., where the couple will make their home.
